The Battlefield 3 beta is in full swing and over the weekend some clever chaps decided to make a mod to the PC version in the game..The gamers modded the Operation Metro map to guide 128 players instead with the standard 32 because why not right We knew these products were gonna happen but everything you may not need seen coming was EA and DICEs response..According to Rock Paper Shotgun In an official statement for the forum which now looks like its been pulled they claimed that playing around the hacked servers can ca use your account being compromised stats to become altered or another issues to arise which may result in having your money to be banned by EA. If your account does get banned it mean every other EA game you might have on your own account would also be unavailable..YIKES That is a serious punishment. Especially considering some of these mods are popping up inside official Battlelog browser. Considering that DICE has already come forward to repeat the Battlefield 3 is supposed to the PC and being hand-crafted to the PC I understand they may be protective of their product. But punishing the consumers who pay for that product only for experimenting after which threatening all another products they paid for from you seems just mean-spirited..What can you guys think about this Does DICE and EA possess the right to complete this Have you seen any hacked servers or mods to the beta Do you think that hacking and modding for PC games is simply something publishers should relax a bit about Let me me know your thinking inside a comment below.
